Mazda serves as a Global Trade Officer for the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Trade and International Affairs. He obtained a bachelor of science in Accounting and a bachelor of science in Finance from the Higher Institute of Management in Senegal and The American Intercontinental University, respectively.

In his role as a Global Trade Officer, he manages global trade development efforts as well as engagement with foreign governments and international organizations with a focus on Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and Middle East. His duties extend to overseeing all diplomatic, business, and cultural exchanges between the City of Houston and these regions. In addition, he manages office finances, planning, and executing Mayoral Trade Missions, and organizing the Mayor’s international business advisory council.

Currently, under the leadership of Mayor Sylvester Turner, Mazda chairs the annual Africa Day celebration’s host committee in Houston. In addition, he has worked with local and international partners to plan and invite delegations with African dignitaries, including Ambassadors, Ministers, Kings, and heads of state to Houston.

Mazda’s participation in the diplomatic world has allowed him to attend the annual and prestigious City Diplomacy Summit hosted by the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. The summit is well attended by dignitaries and international officers from across the globe. Mazda’s network capacity has garnered him success and contribute to his role as a Global Trade Officer.

Mazda is fluent in French and English.
